My New Fave Anti-Aging Night Serum: Intensive Renewing Serum

Thanks to Rodan + Fields for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. And a big thank you to YOU, for supporting the brands that make Blondes & Bagels possible!

I typically like to pride myself on not being the type to panic about aging. I’m a big fan of stoicism, so have been trying to exercise that philosophy when it comes to all things getting older. It’s going to happen whether I like it or not – and with that comes a lot of unfortunate changes in my skin. But the biggest comfort has really been a rock solid skincare routine with a focus on anti-aging. Just because I can’t stop the aging process – doesn’t mean I can’t still have glowing and healthy skin at any age. It just takes the right products (and plenty of water!).

I’m super picky when it comes to the products I pack my skincare routine with. I like my products to be effective, backed with legitimate science, and a good value for the cost.

And my latest love affair is with the R+F REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum – my new favorite anti-aging nightly face serum, to be specific. My love affair with the R+F REDEFINE line actually dates back about two years now – I have the blog posts to prove it – but this serum has changed the game for me when it comes to an anti-aging night serum. It’s just that good.

So let’s discuss.

All the deets of the R+F REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum

Intensive Renewing Serum Ingredients:

The REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum packs an anti-aging punch with a potent form of vitamin A. Like I said…I like effective skincare products that have the science to back them up. This fave little serum of mine is formulated with Retinal-MD Technology, a form of Vitamin A that’s more potent than Retinol – but gentle enough to use regularly, even with sensitive skin. While I do typically include a Retinol in my routine, I have very sensitive and reactive skin so Retinol can’t be a daily use product for me.

But the Intensive Renewing Serum can be.

The other ingredients are bomb, too.

The Retinal-MD Technology (discussed just above) is the powerhouse when it comes to reducing the appearance of fine lines, surface level facial scars, and wrinkles, but this serum is also formulated with peptides and a calcium buffering system (which encapsulates the Retinal molecule to minimize the potential for irritation).

If you’ve been dying to add a Retinol to your routine, but have sensitive skin like myself, the R+F Intensive Renewing serum might just be the ideal solution. You’ll be able to get all the anti-aging benefits of a Retinol – without the potential harshness.

The serum stays potent thanks to the clever single use capsule design.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate innovative design? So little of it, in my opinion, exists in the skincare and beauty world. Most products are packaged the same – and most not even well enough to properly preserve the potency of the product.

But ya’ll – when skincare is backed with science (hi, looking at you specifically R+F), cool innovations happen.

I’ll keep it real with you guys – when I first saw the little capsules in the Intensive Renewing Serum jar, I was wildly confused. What on Earth are these little pods and, more importantly, what the heck am I supposed to do with them?

Admittedly I texted a friend to ask. Lol.

The serum is actually stored in single-use “servings” (as I like to call them) for good reason. By encapsulating Intensive Renewing Serum in one time use capsules, the formula is protected from light and oxygen to maintain potency.

This strategy reminds me a little of how good vitamin c serums are packaged (in dark bottles to protect from sunlight) – except better. The serum, in these little protective pods, remains highly potent thanks to the clever design.

I actually can see results.

At the end of the day, what do we all really care about?

Intensive renewing serum RESULTS.

I’ve been consistently using the R+F Intensive Renewing Serum for four weeks now and have been able to see visible results. While none of the photos in this post have any skin correction or filters on them – and my skin certainly isn’t FaceTune flawless in either my “before” or “after” shots…the difference to me is wild

Intensive Renewing Serum Before & After

Over the last four weeks of using what I can now really confirm is my new favorite nighttime face serum, I saw smoother tone and texture, more “bounce” to my skin, and a softening of the fine lines I’ve been noticing.

My fine lines, admittedly, are few – but the prime areas for me tend to be my forehead (because of my eyebrow movement), the corner of my eyes (I’m a side sleeper, unfortunately), and my marionette lines (what can I say – I like to smile). The Intensive Renewing Serum, for me, specifically “softened” the overall appearance of the forehead and marionette lines.

And I dig it.

How to use the REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum.

Simple steps to open and apply the single-use capsules.

  1. To open the cute lil’ capsule, twist off the “tail” and simply gently squeeze the product into your hand.
  2. Smooth the serum over your face and neck area – avoid the eyes!
  3. Do not rinse your face afterwards – let your skin soak up all the goodness overnight.

Because this serum contains retinoids, it can turn fabrics yellow, so be aware! Intensive Renewing Serum comes with 60 capsules for a 2-month supply, if used nightly.

When and how often you should apply the Intensive Renewing Serum.

The Intensive Renewing Serum is recommended for nightly use – and it’s actually gentle enough to be used nightly! It’s recommended to use one capsule after toner and before your favorite moisturizer.
