The Best PCA Skin Products for Dry Skin

Dry skin has been the bane of my existence lately. Dry skin has always been an issue for me, but the winter weather this year is coming in HOT and by HOT I mean DRY. PCA Skin products have been recent faves of mine to heal dry, itchy skin. This post is definitely not sponsored – but I knew I needed to share.

A little bit about my skin.

I always feel like it’s incredibly important before diving into your own personal favorite skincare products to preface with what type of skin you have. What works for me may not work for you, because we may have totally different skin types!

I have perpetually dry skin. It doesn’t matter how much water I drink – I’m dry. My skin is also very reactive and potentially sensitive at times. My skin easily and frequently flushes red when poked, prodded, or otherwise provoked. I also can have some bumps, reactions, or rashes to some ingredients (unnecessary fragrances, etc). I’m also incredibly fair. Sunburns are common for me and sun damage is a huge concern.

I don’t currently have reoccurring acne issues, but did have severe and persistent acne during my teen and early college years. I can’t tell you the number of treatments I had to try to solve my acne problems. I actually did not one, but two rounds of Accutane.

Why I like PCA Skin products.

While I’m all for a fun trend – skincare ain’t the place for it. I love scoping out new and fresh brands, but what I specifically love about PCA Skin is that they aren’t new and are backed by real dermatological science and practice. PCA has been around since the 90’s and was founded by a dermatologist – their roots are in real results because they were founded by a professional.

I also love PCA’s philosophy when it comes to ingredients. I’ve done an entire podcast episode rant about how “clean” beauty is BS (it’s an unregulated term – anyone can use it), but PCA is about as “clean” as they come. All PCA SKIN products are free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin and phthalates.

My favorite PCA Skin products.

C&E Hand Renewal Anti-Aging Corrective

I’m self conscious about a few areas of my body and my hands are absolutely one of those spots. I’ve always had the driest skin on my hands since I could remember. Even as a kid! I actually used to get teased about it on the playground.

I’m pretty picky with my hand creams and love the PCA Skin C&E Hand Renewal. The cream itself is incredibly hydrating in texture, but not greasy. Greasy hand creams are a massive turn off for me, so love that this one gets the job done without turning me into a greaseball.

The science behind this product is also legit – it actually increases cell turnover to help new skin cells come to the surface and reduce signs of aging.

Hydrating Mask (Therapeutic Oat Milk Mask)

Did I mention I have dry skin? LOLZ. So obvi I love the PCA Skin Hydrating Mask.

Oat milk is one of the key ingredients to the Hydrating Mask, which is incredibly gentle on the skin. In general I just love how gentle this mask is while packing a hydrating punch. Also – weird thing to love – but gosh is it so nice this mask comes in at over 2 oz of product in size. I’ve spent plenty of cash in the past on hydrating masks that cost a bundle for the tiniest bit of product.

Collagen Hydrator

If you’re into a creamy, hydrating moisturizer – this one’s for you. The PCA Skin Collagen Hydrator is a huge splash of moisture for dry skin. The cream is packed with antioxidants and other hydrating ingredients (like glycerin and shea butter).

Dry Skin Relief Bar

Guys. I love a cleansing balm or bar. I have entire blog posts dedicated to my favorite cleansing balms of all time – because they’re so convenient and a double cleanse is LIFE.

What makes the PCA Skin Dry Skin Relief Bar different than your average cleansing product is that it cleanses thoroughly, but gently. With dry skin I absolutely need to cleanse away dead, dry skin cells so new skin can come to light – but my reactive and sensitive skin can’t handle harsh products. The Dry Skin Relief Bar has just 3% salicylic acid to cleanse gently everywhere on the body, including the scalp!

C&E Advanced with Hexylresorcinol and Silymarin

I know this product is a mouthful to say, but if you can squeeze past all the science underneath is a serum packed with anti-aging ingredients you won’t want to miss in your routine. the C&E Advanced contains proven therapeutic levels of L-ascorbic acid and tocopherol and also Includes advanced corrective ingredients hexylresorcinol and silymarin. Essentially this formula is a powerful antioxidant formula to help diminish dark spots and reduce signs of aging.

Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum

If you’re a dry skinned babe (or just love a boost of hydration), nothing beats a well made hyaluronic acid serum. I love using hyaluronic acid as the last step in my skincare routine to sort of seal in all my products and replenish my skin’s moisture barrier.

The PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum uses PCA’s proprietary blend called “HA-Pro Complex.” Use daily morning and night to keep skin looking (and feeling) supple.
