B&B Book Club #1

One of my most prized possessions is my Kindle. Real talk. This isn't sponsored (lol although, Amazon, call me), I just seriously am so obsessed with reading books on my Kindle. It's small, convenient, doesn't hurt my eyes, and as much as I still love a good paperback occasionally, it's just nice to have a library that fits in my purse vs a big bookcase.

I'm always on the hunt for new books to read so thought it would be fun to share some I've been reading lately - and get your feedback. What should I read next???

I literally just finished The Missing Years and....I can't decide how I feel. I found this book when watching Southern Curls & Pearls' Instagram Stories. She was reading this on the beach and said it would make a great beach read. I was SOLD. But honestly the ending felt like a bit of a cop out. I won't give it all away, but basically the story is about a girl coming back to her home town with a haunted past and a mystery to solve. I was digging it up until the last few chapters.

Lolz this book is what KB and I affectionately call "tresh." As in this is a trashy good read. Is it a deep, spiritual piece of literature? Hell no. Is it entertaining? Hell yes. Really anything that has hints of magic, witches, or romance is up my alley. I was a big Twilight fan back in the day (that series basically inspired the word "tresh"). Some of ya'll were telling me they made this book into a tv series? I have yet to watch, but tell me your feels in the comments.

Where The Crawdads Sing was not a trashy, entertaining beach read - it was an actual legit beautiful book. This book has a little bit of mystery, a little bit of crime, and a little bit of romance. Truthfully, I like to read to escape. This book was a little bit on the sad side for me. It's not that there's out of this world sad stuff, it's just that the characters go through a lot of loneliness and generates an overall slow, nostalgic, and sad tone to the book. It's brilliantly written and has high reviews.

I truly cannot say enough AMAZING things about Bad Blood. Out of all the books on this list, THIS is the book I blew through like it was a bag of candy. As ya'll definitely know if you follow me on Instagram, I am obsessed with true crime (especially true crime podcasts). This book was like a true crime podcast in written form. Bad Blood tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes, CEO of the now defunk medical technology company, Theranos. This book documents the story of Elizabeth's (alleged) fraud. The story is insane - you've got to read this book!

Circe tells the story of the daughter of a Titan. Circe isn't powerful like her dad and honestly seems to be about as mortal as they come - except she slowly learns she has more subtle, witchcraft like powers. Circe befriends mortals, falls in love, and meets some characters with famous names you've likely heard before. This book was pure entertainment and perfect for a good summer beach read.

Honestly, ya'll, my book selection success has been about 50-50 so I'm going to need recommendations! HIT ME with your book recommendations in the comments below!
