In-Flight Essentials

Travelling is awesome – long flights are not. In between attempts at napping, it’s crucial to have ways to both stay relaxed and entertained. As I gear up for a two week trip to Italy (which unfortunately involves 14 hours of flight time), I’ve comprised a list of my must have in-flight essentials!

My trusty Longchamp is my favorite bag to carry all my in-flight essentials. KB gifted me mine on our last trip to Paris (he’s a keeper)!  I carry the “Le Pliage Neo Small Tote” in black. Longchamp totes are perfect for traveling because they fit everything one could possibly ever need during a long flight. Mine also comes with a cross-body strap if draping your handbag delicately across your forearm isn’t your thing!

I’m also packing my brand new bkr water bottle for our long flight so that I can stay hydrated! I’ve been wanting to purchase a bkr for a month now – it was even on my August wish list! I’m so glad I took the plunge because this bottle is just too darn cute.

The air circulating throughout the cabin of a plane sucks the moisture right out of my lips. Smith’s Rosebud Salve is a major in-flight essential to prevent dry, chapped lips. Plus, the rose scent smells so luxurious.

I like to toss on some lip gloss right when the plane lands – my quick version of “freshening up.” Long flights are rough! Adding a coat of Buxom’s Lip Polish makes me feel a little more put together (my favorite shade is “April”).

If the dry airplane air really gets to me, I’ll open up my tube of L’occitane Peony Hand Cream. I have an unhealthy obsession with peonies (my favorite flower!) so the smell of this lotion makes me happy beyond words.

My entertainment in-flight essentials consist of a good book and a perfect playlist. I’m currently reading #GIRLBOSS, the story of Nasty Gal’s founder Sophia Amoruso and her journey from eBay vintage to Los Angeles powerhouse. I’ll also be making good use of my Bose noise cancelling headphones (similar here) which are perfect for blocking out the noise from the plane.

What are your in-flight essentials?

Great post! Noise cancelling headphones and lip balm are always the first things to go into my flight bag too. Just don’t forget to empty your lovely water bottle before you take it on the plane, you wouldn’t want security to take it off you!
