I’m obsessed with the current beauty trend of actually caring not only what you put on your skin, but also what is in your skincare. Or more importantly – what’s not in your skincare.
I’m no scientist so won’t get into the nitty gritty, but wanted to hone in on some major benefits of opting for fragrance-free skincare products.
Let’s do this.
Fragrance-free is great for sensitive skin (and noses)!
I’m definitely in the sensitive skin kids club. Like seriously. My fair Irish skin can barely handle any sun exposure, so things like extra scents don’t always work out well.
I distinctly remember an allergic reaction I had to a heavily scented moisturizer last year. Rashes aren’t cute, guys.
Anywhoo, grabbing fragrance-free skincare products every so often means I give my sensitive skin a much needed break from any potential irritants lurking in scented products.
Better texture
Something else I love about fragrance-free is that often the products are lighter weight and softer. Many fragrances in products come in the form of essential oils – don’t get me wrong, I love a good essential oil situation – but when going fragrance-free you often skip the greasy texture!
Potentially fewer or less complex ingredients
It’s impossible to make any blanket statements that no fragrance means simpler ingredients…but I feel like the logic is fairly solid, no? When you choose fragrance-free, that means that much fewer ingredients and even potentially fewer chemicals.
Again – no promises, no blanket statements, but definitely take a peek at that ingredient list! Fragrance-free has the benefit of potentially simplifying your skincare routine.

Let’s talk the new Olay Regenerist Whip Fragrance-Free.
I’ve written about my love of Whips before, and the new fragrance-free version is basically a fun new twist on a product I already know, use, and love. I’m a beauty science junkie and the new version is made with the same unique Active Rush Technology as the other Whips products! The long story short here is that this technology transforms from cream to liquid on the skin for instant absorption (hi, hello, all my dry skin friends). Also PS, it’s packed with vitamin B3! Fun fact: one dose of Olay Whips contains the same amount of Vitamin B3 as 50 cups of kale.
I don’t know about you – but I’d rather slap on my fave moisturizer than pound 50 cups of kale. Ya feel me?
I’m also into the texture of the new Regnerist Whip fragrance-free. The Whips in general are always silky and smooth, but the fragrance-free version feels even more breathable.
