Trying Out Wedding Makeup

I've known from day one of being engaged that I want to do my own wedding makeup.

I worked as a makeup artist for MAC and BareMinerals (back in my old granny days it was called Bare Escentuals). I had done makeup for events both for myself and friends and family.

I keep thinking - no one knows my face better than I do. Plus, I'm not into false eyelashes and don't want a complicated look. I want to look like me. And who better to make me look like me than me? Right?

I turned on the camera and sat down to create this soft glam bridal look using a whole host of my fave products, along with some new ones! I hope this look serves as inspiration for all the brides out there who want to do their own wedding makeup - as well as for all my #BagelBabes that want to recreate this soft glam look for their next big event.

Eyes first.

I always start my makeup look with the eyes. Fall out is a first world problem, but it's a problem. I love doing my eyes first because it means I get to easily wipe away any shadow that drops down under my eyes.

I used a quad from Charlotte Tilbury for the base of my eye look. but added a pop with a glitter cream shadow from Hourglass. This helped bring extra light and reflect to the center of the eye.

I finished off the eyes with waterproof eyeliner (a little bit of a wing) and mascara because you know I'm going to be bawling my eyes out on the big day.

Glowing skin.

I have incredibly dry skin, so wanted to really kick up the glow a notch for my wedding day makeup. I used the NARS Sheer Glow foundation and MAC Strobe Cream underneath. I dusted a light wash of the Hourglass Ambient Light in Dim Light on top to help set the look. I also used a couple different concealers to conceal both under the eyes and my little zit family I have parting on my chin right now.

For blush, I went with a soft baby pink. I started with a cream blush and then added powder on top - the double layer helps it last longer! I also used my trusty bronzer to add some glow and topped off with a Fenty highlighter I'm loving right now.
