Winter in California means you get to break all the fashion rules. A skirt in mid December? Why not.
I’m not much of a girly girl – you’d be hard pressed to find me in a dress or skirt on an average day. But there’s something so crazy chic and feminine about a tulle skirt. I’m also really into any holiday outfit that involves a muscle tank.
I kept seeing tulle skirts all over Instagram and decided I had to have one. Even though literally I don’t wear skirts.
What was I even thinking.
Tulle Skirts
I opted for a knee length tulle skirt and am so happy I did. The mini ones can get real weird real fast. I feel like an actual lady in this skirt and it doesn’t give off the costume party vibes at all.
With the skirt having so much volume, I tucked a slightly more slimming muscle tank into it to add some definition at my waist. I also threw on some sassy pins that my friend makes for a hit of gold.
And obviously I can’t be too much of a lady, so I wore my faux leather jacket over the whole thing. I can’t forget my tom boy roots.
I’m also going to be super honest that even though my intent is to provide ya’ll with holiday outfit inspiration – I’ll def just be in my PJs all Christmas weekend.
KB and I are headed back up to my hometown which means I’ll be bumming it on my parents couch in my Totoro pajamas while drinking tea like the 65 year old woman I am inside.

I broke out my super painful Louboutins for this baby, too. That’s right. We got real fancy up in here.
I have this weird internal struggle about my Louboutins. Like I love them. I mean just look at them. They make my legs look amazing.
But also I kind of hate them. They hurt like the knives of a thousand soldiers.
I get that Louboutin doesn’t design “comfort” shoes, but I feel like it’s possible to have heels that are both pretty and don’t make you want to chop your own feet off. Right?
Even with my mixed feelings about the purchase, I do feel crazy confident when I break them out. But be warned that the Pigalles are torture. Beautiful, beautiful torture.

Ahh I love the black tulle! I have been wanting to try out a tulle skirt, but I am too nervous I will never wear it!

Ahh how do you usually wear yours! I feel like I still haven’t fully found the right top for this one yet…it’s so voluminous I feel like I need a tight top?

So pretty! Not something I could pull off!
Aw thanks Rebecca. And I never thought I could either 😉 I swear it’s fun to play dress up in a tulle skirt though.
