The Vera Bradley Harry Potter bags collection officially has a round two with their newest launch. I wrote an entire blog post and a YouTube video on the first drop of the Vera Bradley Harry Potter collection – I was obsessed. I purchased darn near the entire line with my own money and have worn many of the styles since launch. When I heard there was another drop of Vera Bradley and Harry Potter coming down the pipeline, I freaked out.
Especially once I found out the line was inspired by Herbology.
I’m no Hufflepuff, but Herbology is such a big piece of Harry Potter fandom. From the Mandrakes saving lives in Chamber of Secrets to Gillyweed in Goblet of Fire, Herbology is woven throughout the series. Opting for Herbology inspired patterns is a true homage to the Harry Potter fandom – real fans will love it.
This post is absolutely not sponsored in any way shape or form, but I was able to grab some of the brand new Vera Bradley Harry Potter Herbology collection in PR – which is exactly how I’m able to give you the ins and outs of this amazing collection on launch day.
A little disclaimer: I’m cranking out this post on the day of launch because all Vera and HP collabs sell out FAST. Most of the time they sell out entirely! So if you’re hoping to shop the new arrivals in this collection, click here and get to it. I suggest running, not walking.
Let’s get into the magic.
There are two new patterns in this latest Herbology inspired drop of the VB x HP collection. Both patterns are neutral in undertone, with a pale greyish blue serving as the backdrop to intricate blooms and magical flora and fauna. Featured in this cheeky print are fan favorite magical plants like the Mandrake, Wolfsbane, Gillyweed, and even a little “Earmuffs required!” shout out.
Vera Bradley is legendary for making colorful quilted bags. While I’m a fan of pops of color in my accessories, I do personally love that this drop is fairly neutral. I feel like the neutrality of this print is going to give it lots of legs (able to be worn through any season) and also lots of longevity (won’t go out of style any time soon).
I purchased not one, but TWO of the Campus Backpacks in the very first Harry Potter collection drop. Here I am…now with a third. Regrets? None. I love a good Vera Bradley Harry Potter backpack. The campus backpack is so functional – with loads of pockets and compartments for truly anything you might need on the go. I’m also a huge fan of the fact that this bag has a laptop sleeve, making it ideal for travel, commute, and school.
You don’t have to be on campus to be obsessed with the Campus Backpack.
I will note the backpack style I was personally hoping to see be restocked was the Vera Bradley Harry Potter Small Backpack – but unfortunately I still see it as out of stock. Crossing fingers it comes back in the future! If you’re unsure what backpack style is right for you, the Vera website does have a handy tool to help you compare backpacks.
I’ll admit a lunch box isn’t always super practical unless you’re off to school or the office – but man when you need a lunch box is it super handy to have one. I used to bring my Lunch Bunch into the office when I worked in the city. Now I often reach for a lunch bag when we’re headed out for a long day of random activities and I’d like to keep a snack and some drinks cool.
This Vera Bradley Harry Potter lunch box is soft sided, but durable, thanks to the quilted cotton. I also love that the Lunch Bunch is insulated to keep things properly cool. The Lunch Bunch also lets the Herbology print really shine, as it’s got enough surface area to capture plenty of great pattern placement.
Give me that Mandrake front and center!
I’ll admit typically I typically gravitate towards tote bags or crossbody bags – but this Mini Sling Backpack is unique. I really don’t own any other bag like it. Honestly I think the Mini Slings make for great travel backpacks because they’re so slim – they’d be easy to slip into a suitcase and carry around for daily adventures!
I bought this Vera Bradley Harry Potter crossbody in the first drop of the collection and was pumped to see the style released again in the Herbology ditsy print. Honestly this crossbody style might be my most used out of all my Vera Bradley bags – it’s SO convenient. The front pocket is the perfect size for a smartphone. There are also two additional zip pockets that have plenty of card slots and other compartments for ease of use.
The bag itself is very adjustable, allowing it to be worn as a crossbody, a shoulder bag, or even as a wristlet. Whatever floats your boat, the RFID All In One Crossbody is the jack of all trades.
My Home to Hogwarts Vera Bradley Harry Potter blanket has quickly become one of my most used blankets around the house. I actually loved the print so much, I bought a second one in the Vera Bradley Harry Potter restock.
It sold out in the first drop!
Vera Bradley blankets are some of my favorites of all time (right up there with my Barefoot Dreams blankets). Not only are their fleece blankets plush, soft, and cozy – but they actually manage to maintain that hand feel after many washes.
Vera Bradley blankets make an amazing gift, by the way!
I love the weekender. And I’m over the moon that the Vera team featured new prints and patterns from collaborative lines like this one on this classic travel bag style. The Vera Bradley Weekender bags travel like a dream. The trolley sleeve on the back of the bag makes it an easy style to toss on top of a suitcase and wheel away. I also love that this bag is pretty huge – but somehow magically fits under the seat in front of me on a plane. Why would I take a small tote bag as my personal item when I could fit that tote bag inside my Weekender – and still have room for much more.
The Vera Tote is a classic. This bag comes in both standard and small sizes, both of which are absolutely worth owning. I personally own the standard size Vera Tote in the classic black Hogwarts style with the crest on the front of the bag. This tote is SO functional. There are six, I repeat, SIX compartments on the interior. And yes, there are still even more compartments on the exterior. When I do choose to travel with a tote, the Vera Tote makes for one of my most amazing travel bags.
I also have to shout out that I think the Vera Bradley design team really nailed the handbag silhouette choices in this collection. Not everyone will love the idea of a Vera Bradley Harry Potter purse if it’s loud and too obviously part of a fandom – but between the classic Vera style print and classic Vera silhouettes these are a match made in heaven.
YES I purchased a robe when the Home to Hogwarts collection launched. I mean, if you’re in love with the blankets, why not literally wrap yourself in one? The Vera Bradley Harry Potter robe styles are SO cute to wear to bed, after a shower, or just lounging around the house. Plus, they’re just about as cozy as robes come.
