Let’s take it back to basics today. I want to talk about simple products that make up a simple skincare routine, but with powerful ingredients.

Because honestly good skincare doesn’t have to be complex or cost a lot of money. It just doesn’t.

I also want to touch on how skincare IS a form of self love. Fun fact: the skin is the largest organ on your body. You know what loving yourself looks like? Taking awesome care of your body, especially your skin.

So let’s get to it.

Where I shop.

I’m super excited to be partnering with Rite Aid and CeraVe for this post! Rite Aid is hosting a Wellness + Beauty event that totally speaks to my philosophy of beauty being a form of self love and care.

My simple + powerful skincare routine.

Lately I’ve been feeling extra dry. If you hang out here on a regular basis you know dry skin is my main skin concern. While I’m always trying to drink more water, sometimes I need to bring in some skincare basics with powerful ingredients to whip my skin back into hydrated shape.

I popped down to my local Rite Aid and picked up my CeraVe® Hydrating Facial Cleanser and CeraVe® Moisturizing Cream to help combat my dry spring skin.

CeraVe® has been a bathroom cabinet staple of mine since, oh I don’t know, literally high school. But admittedly it wasn’t until recently I realized some of my favorite basics were packed with powerful ingredients.

The Hydrating facial cleanser was actually developed with dermatologists. The formula is unique in that it cleanses, hydrates, and helps restore the protective skin barrier with three essential ceramides (1, 3, 6-II). My fave ingredient is always hyaluronic acid, so I love that this cleanser has it! This wash is also fragrance free and non-comedogenic, removing dirt, oil and makeup gently. Got normal to dry skin like me? This one’s up your alley.

I like to follow up with the CeraVe® Moisturizing Cream (also developed with dermatologists!). I love that this cream gives 24-hour hydration and helps restore the protective skin barrier (again with three essential ceramides). The formula also contains hyaluronic acid (my fave!) to help retain skin’s natural moisture. Not into fragrances? No problem. This cream is free of fragrance and oil, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and non-irritating! Boom, perfect for normal to dry skin.

Why skincare = self love.

Loving yourself means taking care of yourself. Self love can come in so many different forms. Reading a book, taking a workout class you love - even eating that pint of ice cream sitting in the fridge.

There's no right or wrong way to show self love.

For me, taking time out of my day to slow down and take care of my skin is my form of self love. I look forward to my nighttime routine, slowly taking off my makeup, cleansing my skin, massaging in my moisturizer, and hopping into bed. I totally encourage you all to view your skincare routine as a form of self love - slow it down and feel so proud to take care of your body. It feels good!

I also super encourage you to swing by Rite Aid during their wellness + beauty event. Snag some amazing deals on amazing staples and feel good while doing it.
