My Sephora VIB Sale Picks

Makeup is my FAVE. I definitely lean on makeup to cover up the things about myself I don't love (dark circles, I'm talking to you). But I also use makeup to express myself. I use makeup to be creative, try new things, and be myself.

Seriously I stalk new product releases like my life depends on it.

That being said, this stuff basically never goes on sale. And that is exactly why I lose my shit twice a year - when Sephora has their VIB Sale. The Sephora VIB Sale is semi annual with events taking place in April and November. April is sort of a snooze fest because they typically only advertise a 15% off promo. November is higher at 20% (for VIB and VIB Rouge members) and for some reason that extra 5% makes all the difference.

I'm well aware it's all totally psychological.

Most people recommend you stock up on your fave products during this time (because why not get them at 20% off), but it's also a great time to try new products. I've done a little round up of both my holy grail products by category I totally recommend as well as a few items I'm looking to try out myself!

Foundation

I'll keep it real - Sephora does not sell my all time fave foundation (which is actually a cc cream). They do however sell some of my other holy grail products for perfect skin.

The  CC cream by It Cosmetics is a great dupe for my holy grail Chanel cc cream (and is almost $20 cheaper before the VIB sale discount). Into it. I'm also the biggest fan of the Original Foundation by bareMinerals. I've been wearing this stuff since I was - let this sink in - thirteen. We're talking 12 years of obsession. I love to wear it either by itself on my minimal makeup days or I love to use it as my setting powder for a little more coverage.

I also tossed in a couple Armani foundations into the mix. The Luminous Silk is known for being a beautiful, glowy, medium coverage foundation. The Power Fabric is more medium to full coverage and has more of a matte vibe going on. I'm also adding the Fenty Beauty foundation as an item I'd love to try.

Bronzer

Hands down my holy frail bronzer is the Hoola Bronzer from Benefit. Hands. Down. This bronzer is the perfect neutral tone (not too cool, not Oompa Loompa). Perfection. I've burned through at least two of these over the years and will continue to repurchase.

I've also recently fallen in love with the Milk Makeup Bronzer. This lil' guy comes in stick form and is a cream to powder formula. I appreciate the portability of the stick and love how easily it blends. Like Hoola, this bronzer is matte all the way.

I'm also a fan of the Nars Laguna bronzer - a much hyped product and for good reason. Bronzers I'm dying to try are the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil and the Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer (this ones got a little bit of shimmer so think it would stand out in my collection).

Blush

I'm pretty biased with blush - I typically stick to the pink/coral shades. I'm incredibly fair and find these to be the most flattering. My ride or die blush in my Nars Super Orgasm blush. I used the regular Orgasm color for years and switched to the Super version about two years ago - and haven't looked back. It's like a blush and highlighter in one!

I like to switch up my routine with my Too Faced Love Flush blush mostly because of it's long wearing power. This blush can totally make it through a 8+ hour work day where as the Nars one does tend to fade. I'm also a huge fan of Benefit's boxed blushes, particularly Dallas which is like a bronzer and blush in one (it's almost like a mauve/brown shade). And don't freak out over how this Bobbi Brown blush looks in the pan - it goes on sheer and is the most beautiful pop of matte pink.

Highlighter

YAAAS I am a highlighter freak. I have naturally dry skin so I'm all about anything that can bring some life back into my skin. My fave highlighter is an old favorite - the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl. This highlighter is a cream/liquid highlighter that comes in a stick applicator. It's a pink and gold mix of YAAAAS. I'm also all about this Too Faced Candlelight Glow highlighter my boy toy just picked out for me. I had been eyeing it for months and am so glad it's finally in my collection. This highlighter comes in two shades, I opted for the warmer tones.

Benefit actually pretty much kills the highlighter game so scroll through the little widget I've got here to see my faves (which is basically everything they make...).

Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow is my fave makeup to play with. I don't wear a ton of color when it comes to clothes (all black errythang) so eyeshadow is my place to play. I'm a huge fan of neutral palettes with the occasional trip into those of a warm toned variety.

My fave palettes are the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Original and Bon Bons palettes. The Original palette is THE neutral palette of life. Bon Bons has cooler tones  that are super romantic. Too Faced also makes another staple neutral palette at a slightly cheaper price point. My favorite warm toned palette is the ABH Modern Renaissance palette and an awesome palette that is matte only is the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette.

Eyeliner

I've been skipping eyeliner recently, but know you guys will want to pick some up. So here are my faves!

Kat Von D makes an amazing felt pen liner, but I'm actually a fan of this less expensive dupe from the Sephora house brand. I also love a good gel liner and this one from Bobbi Brown is a staple in my collection. For the waterline I'm a fan of this lil' nugget from Urban Decay and this brightening color from Tarte!

Mascara

I ditched the mascara for months back when I had eyelash extensions, but I'm back at it again now! I've been using the Lancome Monsieur Big mascara lately, but I'm also a huge fan of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. These are both voluminous mascaras and add a good deal of curl.

If you're looking mostly for length, nothing beats Diorshow. I'm also super into the Bobbi Brown mascara for a smokey look.

Lip

To be truthful, I suck at lip products. I touch my poor little chapped lips so much that few lip products survive. I also always forget to reapply throughout the day.

That being said - I definitely have faves. Buxom is my ride or die lip brand overall and the shade White Russian is my holy grail (it's a pink/nude shade that is flattering on everyone). White Russian comes in a lipstick, a liquid lipstick, a lip gloss, and a lip liner. My other ride or die product would have to be the Too Faced melted lipsticks which have the look of a liquid lipstick and the convenience of a regular lipstick. Into it. My fave shade is Melted Peony (because I can't get enough nude/pink shades). I've also tossed in a few of my other favorite products into the little widget for you babes.

I'm deeeefinitely not done shopping the sale - so tell me your fave products and recommendations in the comments below!
