My Emsculpt Results

You all know by now I’m totally down to play guinea pig and test every new beauty product and treatment on the market - today is no different. I was actually hanging out at SkinSpirit for my regular round of botox (which you can read about here) when I got to chatting with the crew about Emsculpt.

I want to be very up front - I am not the expert here. My trusted team at Skinspirit are the experts. I’m going to break down exactly what Emsculpt is, why I did it (as part of my bridal prep plan!), and everything in between from the consumer perspective.

What is Emsculpt and how does it work?

Emsculpt is a muscle building treatment that can currently be done on your abs, arms, and butt. The practitioner places a paddle on the treatment area which emits electro pulses, causing the muscles to contract.

I was treated on my abdominal area. My Skinspirit practitioner likened it to a crunch. The electro current causes the abs to contract (in the exact same way they do during a crunch). The strength of the current goes from 1-100. Emsculpt is typically administered in three separate twenty minute sessions for abdominals.

Why do Emsculpt?

Emsculpt improves muscle tone. Skinspirit recommended Emsculpt as part of my bridal prep! I have been taking care of myself extra lately as my walk down the aisle approaches. I want to both look and feel my absolute best. I eat (mostly) well, exercise fairly regularly, and Emsculpt, for me, is the cherry on top to tone me to my best.

Who is Emsculpt right for?

Emsculpt is for those who wish to build more muscle - it does not reduce fat. Skinspirit does consultations up front to determine if someone is a candidate for Emsculpt (muscle building) or potentially Cool Sculpting (fat melting).

Does Emsculpt hurt?

The number one question I got while showcasing my Emsculpt process on Instagram was, “but does it hurt???”

I wouldn’t say Emsculpt hurts, but in all honesty it is intense. I’m a pretty big wimp for pain, and Emsculpt was never painful, but it did get uncomfortable at times. My Skinspirit team were like my angels, constantly checking in and making sure I was as comfortable as possible.

The other thing that’s great is that you really do control the strength of the treatment. The Skinspirit team obviously wanted me to get max results (level 100!), but was always amazing about checking in if I was comfortable to go to a higher level.

By my third treatment, I was all the way at level 100 no problem. My recommendation is to dress comfortably and just relax - you get used to the sensation.

How much does Emsculpt cost?

The cost of Emsculpt varies based on the location of treatment and the number of treatments needed. My recommendation is to pop into your local Skinspirit for a FREE consultation.

How long do the results of Emsculpt last?

The way my practitioner described it was that the results start to show about four weeks after your last treatment, and do last months - if you work with the treatment. Emsculpt isn’t a “miracle” treatment that trumps a healthy lifestyle - it works with a healthy lifestyle. Continue to eat right and exercise
