Laptop Stand Benefits: Why You NEED One.

Real talk – I spend 8+ hours a day staring at screens. And you probably do, too. And you’re also probably missing out on some serious laptop stand benefits.

I truly wish I was exaggerating. I’m not. My iPhone tells me my screen time for that device alone is about 7 hours daily, so really I’m racking up scary screen time if I were to actually add it all up including computer use.

Which brings me to my least fave part about working at a desk all day…

The effed up back pain and bad posture. It’s awful.

Computer work, especially on a laptop, can unfortunately lead to poor posture along with pain everywhere from your back to your neck to your wrists.

It’s not a cute situation – but a laptop stand can make all the difference.

I ordered myself this specific laptop stand and it’s been a game changer. Let’s break down why.

Improves posture.

Honestly one of my fave laptop stand benefits is that they improve posture. I have major paranoia about my bad posture – I’m really not trying to develop a hunchback because my career forces me to sit all day. My weekly pilates classes are a big help, but my laptop stand honestly helps me maintain the progress I make in my classes each week.

Laptop stands elevate your computer to better meet your eye line, meaning you don’t have to crane your neck downwards to look at your computer. Seriously – start paying attention to the angle of your neck when you’re at your computer. I’ll bet you’ve been quietly and slowly straining your neck without even realizing it. Laptop stands encourage great posture, which keeps us all looking proud and pretty.

Reduces back pain.

Re: bad posture, computer work can totally cause back pain. Honestly – computer work can cause a whole host of pain (wrists, am I right?).

When your computer is better positioned for your eye line, your posture improves, which ultimately strengthens your core and reduces pain. Standing desks are honestly the best back pain reliever – but a laptop stand will do in a pinch.

Can prevent laptop from overheating.

I’m often guilty of workin with my laptop on my lap (…because it’s literally called a “lap”top…) – which sometimes causes my computer to overheat.

Ever had a slab of hot metal burning your thighs in your cute little matching pj set? I have. It blows.

Put some distance between you and that computer. No burns necessary.

Allows you to work from (almost) anywhere.

Another big laptop stand benefit? What I really dig about my laptop stand is that I can now comfortably work from just about everywhere in our house. I love writing blog posts from our coffee table, kitchen table, our couch – even from our bed if I have a sick day. Seriously – my laptop stand gives me the flexbility to work with good posture at just about every seat in the house.
