Happy Monday, honeys. This is a big one for me! I start a new job today! Trust me, I’ll give you guys a full download on all that in a post I’m working on.

The weather has been amazing lately here in SF. We’re talking plenty of sunshine and dry heat. I’m super into it but my skin is perpetually dry and the heat doesn’t exactly help. Since the ripe age of 15 I’ve struggled with dull, dry, and sometimes acne ridden skin.

Talk about ugh.

Breakouts are often associated with oily skin and trying to understand why I was suffering from zits on my face, chest, and back while having dry skin was confusing and infuriating. I finally had a light bulb “aha!” moment and realized that my suffering skin was actually severely dehydrated.

Basically I knew if I wanted hydrated and healthy skin I had to rethink my routine real fast.

I nailed down a face skincare routine, but spent years doing the same standard body skincare routine that everyone does. AKA hop into a hot shower, use a generic body wash, dry off, and slather on some sticky goop for moisture. Body creams and butters left me feeling more sticky than hydrated – none of which helped with my acne or dryness.

So after ten years of the same monotonous routine I’m switchin’ it up, people.

I actually found my holy grail dry skin solve while getting my summer glow on with Jergens® a couple months back. I had been using the Natural Glow® Wet Skin® Moisturizer to get a tan while in the shower and went bananas when I found out Jergens made a version without Natural Glow®.

Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil 10 oz. has been my saving grace when it comes to caring for my dry skin. I moisturize my skin using the Wet Skin Moisturizer while in the shower.

Yup, you heard me. This is an in shower moisturizer.

Moisturizing in the shower seemed so counter intuitive at first, but it turns out our skin cells actually expand after showering which makes it the ideal time to lock in moisture. It’s also crazy lightweight which means I don’t get that icky sticky residue.

I picked up my Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer at Walmart in the skin and sincere aisle. There’s a whole shelf packed with different options but I’m majorly obsessed with anything coconut so grabbed the Coconut Oil version! I also snatched up a bottle of the Monoi Oil version so that I’m able to switch up my scents. I love a little variety.

I just pop my bottle into the corner of my shower as a friendly reminder to apply before stepping out.

Moisturizing in the shower has also saved me some time in my beauty routine. I’ve been all about time saving beauty hacks lately (sunless tan, eyelash extensions, microblading, you name it I’m prob into it). So yes I’m VVVV proud of the 5-10 mins I’m saving by hydrating in the shower (lolz).

But real talk between the Natural Glow version and my Coconut Oil version, Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer has changed the body skincare game for me.

Nailed it.
