How to Repair Dry Winter Hair

It's been a rough winter, babes. When I tell people I live in California, they picture sun, surf and sand.

This honestly couldn't be more untrue. San Francisco is dry, foggy and nippy this time of year. And my hair has been FEELING it. We're talking bad hair day after bad hair day.

Today on the blog I wanted to kick off with some of my favorite tips and tricks for how to heal lackluster (or even damaged) winter hair!

Let's do this.

Drink more water!

Suffering from dry hair and dry skin? First and foremost make sure you're drinking enough water.

I've got a few posts about how to drink more water. Make sure to read through for my best tips and tricks, but the rule of thumb is that you should be drinking around eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day.

Switch to a repairing hair care collection.

This time of year, I like to swap over to repairing and restorative hair care products. For the last two weeks, I've been religiously using the Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner line as part of the Pantene 14 Day Challenge. I kicked off my 14 days with a little Instagram post and gave ya'll an update at the halfway mark, too! Now I'm a full two weeks in and have seen crazy amazing results from sticking with repairing products for a chunk of time.

The Pantene Repair & Protect Collection is formulated with powerful Pro-V nutrients and antioxidants that help repair hair for 2x less breakage - something I do suffer from especially during the winter. I've not only seen more strength in my locks, but also added shine. I'm usually looking so dull in December, but I'm LOVING how shiny my blonde is looking after two weeks using Repair & Protect.

Can I just say I'm also super digging Pantene's mission right now? They discovered through a Yale University Study that only 1 in 10 women experience a great hair day regularly...

Like, WHAT.

That makes me so sad. I feel my most confident - my strongest - when I'm feeling good about how I look. A great hair day makes me feel like I can take on the world. Pantene has been on a mission to give more women great hair days and change the statistic, empowering women to feel beautiful  and strong.

And that is a mission I can get behind.

I feel five thousand times more fresh and confident at the end of two weeks of repairing products than I did on day one. If you aren't in need of a little extra hydration and repair like I am, make sure to check out all the other Pantene products out there - there's seriously something for everyone (and we all deserve a great hair day).

Make time for masking.

Beyond just swapping out your hair and conditioner, I also highly recommend masking.

Guys. Masking is a thing.

Pantene makes a great mask that I've been digging. I also like to reach for some coconut oil as an impromptu hair mask before hopping in the shower.
