The Ultimate Eye Cream: Why You Need Drunk Elephant C-Tango

I've been searching for an eye cream I could get on board with for years now. I've tried a long list of products that swear they'll kick fine lines and wrinkles to the curb.

My Olay eye cream is still one of my faves, but when the Drunk Elephant C-Tango showed up in my mailbox I was colored intrigued. I've heard a ton of great things about Drunk Elephant and had never tried a single product.

Until now.

I've been testing out the Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream and am here to break down this brand new eye cream for ya'll.

What is Drunk Elephant C-Tango?

Long story short, the Drunk Elephant C-Tango is a "rich and restorative eye cream featuring a brightening combination of eight peptides, five forms of vitamin C, and cucumber extract for firmer, stronger-looking skin around the eye area."

What does C-Tango fight against?

C-Tango might be right for you if you have a loss of firmness or elasticity around your eyes. C-Tango also helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

...both are definitely issues I've been fighting for years...

What are the key ingredients of Drunk Elephant C-Tango?

I'm a total ingredient junkie. I had a blast reading through to understand all the different components of C-Tango.

C-Tango has potent antioxidants, replenishing ceramides, and plant oils. Other ingredients include Power Five C Vitamin Complex (five forms of vitamin c), cucumber, and ubiquinone (has been shown to reduce the depth of fine lines and wrinkles).

I'm also all about what's not in C-Tango: parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

How much does C-Tango cost?

Drunk Elephant C-Tango rings in at $64 for 0.5 oz of product. You can now buy it online at Sephora.

Is it worth it?

I get this question all the time when reviewing products and services - "is it worth it?"

Honestly "worth it" means something different to everyone. But let's break this one down by taking a look at some of the competition. I scoured Sephora's website to find similar eye creams on the market (vitamin c based or brightening).

The OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème is $38 for 0.5 oz of product and has both vitamin c and collagen. The Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream rings in at $31 for 0.5 oz of product boasting main ingredients like coffee beans and ginseng. Tarte makes the Maracuja C-Brighter™ Eye Treatment for $38 for 0.35 oz of product and has maracuja, vitamins E and B5, adenosine (improves crows feet), and hyaluronic acid. The most similar eye cream to me looks to be the Dr. Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Brighten & Firm Eye Cream for $65 for 0.5 oz of product and has 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C), collagen amino acids, and GABA to reduce fine lines.

In looking at the competition, the amount of product included in the Drunk Elephant C-Tango (0.5 oz) is totally reasonable and in line with competitors. The price definitely falls on the higher end of the spectrum - but is right in line with the most similar cream on the market I saw (Dr. Dennis Gross).

My thoughts? It's worth it. I think Drunk Elephant accurately priced C-Tango in terms of both amount of product and quality of ingredients. I've also tried my fair share of eye creams and can tell this cream feels richer and I've seen results faster.

I say - worth it.

Beauty takes time - so I'll be coming back to this post to add some before and after shots after I've been using C-Tango for a month or two. Stay tuned!
